Midweek Poll : What is your biggest barrier to moving your home from energy ? (heating, hot water , electric, cooking)

If you have already switched , I would be interested to hear success / problem stories. Future polls will explore in more detail.

Mastodon poll only allows 4 options! :

Quite cross: "Honestly, it's fine"
Very cross: "Seriously, don't worry about it"
Bloody livid: "Look, just forget it"

Another 20.8mm would make this my wettest month, beating January 2014’s 228.1mm.

So there it is…
207.4mm in east so far this November. This is more than DOUBLE the whole month average for Airport, making this the SECOND wettest month since my records began in 2009.

I love these early winter nights.
Jupiter is shining brightly in the twilight. Birds sing before they roost and the sweet smell of the cold air and log burners fills my nose.

It isn't just about looking up, stargazing is about the world around you.

Tomorrow, Omar Di Felice is setting off on an epic cycle ride across Antarctica.

His bike and helmet carry the Warming Stripes to highlight the risks from climate change.

I’m really enjoying it here, but with all the going on, it seems to take a lot longer to catch up than it did on the birdsite, and my following is much smaller here. Any tips from pros on focussing on what you want to see, rather than what other people want you to see?

For the remainder of this month...a blocking high pressure to our E means the UK continues to see Atlantic lows driven towards us by an active jetstream, which stall nearby..result...often wet and windy

Into next month..hints of change...signs of rising pressure about the UK..possibly drier and less unsettled, but perhaps some colder spells too

One to 👀 for now..

This is what an Iron Age motorway looks like!

It's a drove road in Somerset's Quantock hills. An ancient trackway where you really feel the history. But those amazing beech trees are more recent - European beech isn't very long-lived.

So... An #introduction

Some of you may know me from Tweetland.

I live on the Isle of Sark, no longer the only station here, assuming the other station still is, obvs. Mostly in to restoring elderly radios that I have an unfortunate addiction to, particularly the FT-102.

I have bursts of activity on many bands when time and electricity budget allows.

General invitation, if you're visiting Sark come and say hello! I'm at the highest point in the Bailiwick for radio stuff and tea is available!

Another 21.8mm today brings the monthly east total to 190% of the local November average. This month is already the THIRD WETTEST since my records began in 2009, and could quite easily become the wettest.
