Spoiler alert if you haven't visited Butchart Gardens near Victoria, BC. Initially I thought it was nothing to write home about, until we turned this corner. Video credit: my coffee maker aka husband

It was so beautiful, I couldn't possibly post all the photos I took, but here's a sampler

@dillyd At first, I though I was looking at a very, very hard captcha challenge

@dillyd

Ye gods, all that clipping. THE CLIPPING!

@dillyd

Oh beautiful! The colors! The varieties of blooms! The green and blue surrounding them! What all dreams of Spring are filled with! Thank you!

@dillyd
I still remember this from a visit over 60 years ago. Still would love to go back. It's beautiful.

@dillyd
My mom loved the rose gardens there when we visited back in the 60s. She stopped to savor the beauty of each of the thousands of flowers. Us boys were less thrilled.

@dillyd Beautiful! I went there in my 20s with friends and no knowledge about the place. Thought it was very cool.

@dillyd
Thank you!
As beautiful as I remember. I got to visit in 1995.

@dillyd Oh my goodness this is extraordinary. What a moment.

@dillyd 😃 . Gorgeous. You picked a great time to go.

@dillyd Stunning view. It’s the backdrop for one of my favorite photos of my wife & me, though when it was taken 25+ years ago we had only recently started dating.

@dillyd Decades ago, I was there in the Butchart Bay on a Kayak but we never went into the gardens. I've been there in Victoria 3 times and never got inside yet.

@dillyd Haven’t been there since early 80s. Seems to be doing okay, this garden.

@dillyd
Man o man!
You had me at the stone wall and mantle thingy

@dillyd

Growing up on the coast, I had heard of Butchart Gardens so very many times as a child that I had thought of them as ‘one of those tourist places.’

Actually seeing them as an older teen, dispelled that idea quickly. I should have known better as the Capilano and Lynn Canyons in North Vancouver are much the same in terms of exceeding their hype.

@dillyd Oh yeah! I have a friend who lives in Victoria and when I went to visit her, she said we had to go there. I'm not a nature gal. It was the highlight of my trip!

@dillyd

Not bad for an old rock quarry, hey?

It's pretty spectacular lit up at Christmas and there is usually ice skating.

@dillyd that takes me back. Visited in 1983
