Good to see we're moving away from talking about early humans as 'primitive'. Need to read his book to fully understand where he's coming from. Depressing when UK museums still adopt the 'primitive' early history narrative. Funny how we perceive full adaptation to natural environment as primitive and doing everything at the touch of a button as advanced. Yet we can't do friction fire or knap without chopping a finger off.

What this country needs is a mandate carta...
instead we have an ill-(non)functioning govt. This govt has been MIA since 2019.

Early medieval kings had such imaginative names.

NHS is now sending me letters in Turkish to get my covid jab because I'm in the eligible group. Have been since Sept/Oct but my GP still hasn't got to me yet. Have asked them, they just say sit and wait. Not as if I can go to the nearest walk-in 6/7 miles away. There's no public transport and I don't drive. 😞🤷🏼‍♀️

cold sandwiches also save you money, if you factor in the cost of buying the sandwiches! ffs 🤦🏽‍♀️🙇‍♂️🥪

Why the hell can't you get proper wooden mop handles from anywhere anymore? Are all these plastic ones supposed to be improving the environment somehow?

The way Matt Hancock goes on, anyone would be forgiven for thinking he is the only victim of Coronavirus. Poor Matt Hancock. He wasn't treated fairly. I wonder why............

ofgs 🤦‍♀️ Sir Karmer and his Tory friends. Won't take him long to begin building his post-PM career strategy. He's prepared to form those lucrative connections from day one! Can hear him rolling his sleeves up and rubbing his hands together.

So, a horse walks into a bar and orders a pint. The barkeep says, "You're in here pretty often lately. Do you think you might be an alcoholic?" The horse replies, "I don't think I am," and then vanishes from existence. You see, the joke is really about Descartes' famous quote, "I think; therefore, I am." but if I had explained this before the joke, I would've been putting Descartes before the horse.
I'll show myself out now.

Let's just hope the Army doesn't decide to go on strike. Not like they haven't got cause. Thrown about from pillar to post.

add the cost of cooking everything and heating the house. Cheaper to eat out. Alternatively get pre-packed turkey sandwiches. People can't afford to cook Christmas dinner ffs.

robots in Cambridge now. The next proto-type will be able to hack the street lights unaided. 🤦🏼‍♀️lots of gig workers + surrounding area high unemployment. The writing is kind of on the wall and it's wealthy remote people like Jeff Bezos who are shaping our world. Not our govts who just weaken legislation and reduce taxes for the rich. Amazon clearly wants a wageless robot workforce. But society needs jobs to keep a roof over its head and pay for things. Like off amazon.

Given what a cynical sod I am, I won't believe it until it happens. Starmer, is the product of private education. But like Blair, he's eyeing an easy votes topic.

Will scrapping charity status miracle loads of money into state schools? No. Allocated money once lost, is lost forever. It's never 'reinvested'. School places will grow in demand and the very rich will continue to send their kids to better equipped and less crowded sanctuaries.
